The 'card indices' developed from a few random tables I'd drawn up to help with role-playing games. There wasn't much to them, really; roll the die, cross-reference with the table. Most RPGs thrive on that sort of thing. Before long I started writing bits of code to roll dice against the tables and output the result, and then those developed into various other random generators. I doubt many more card indices will be coded now, but you never know.
